This was an impulsive solar flare--intense but probably too brief to lift a coronal mass ejection (CME) out of the sun's atmosphere. It is too soon, however, to rule out the possibility of debris heading our way. Pending data from SOHO coronagraphs will reveal any CMEs in the hours ahead…

These are members of the Fat Men's Club of NY (1904). Members had to be at least 200 pounds, pay a $1 fee to enter and learn a secret handshake and password… Today, the fat men’s club just gathers at Walmart and rides around in scooters… And, if it still existed, the minimum weight limit would have probably almost doubled…

Fat men's clubs typically required prospective members to weigh in at over 200 pounds in addition to demanding a small membership fee. Club members were typically wealthy, and the clubs often arranged busy social calendars for their membership that included balls, sports events and banquets, which often doubled as networking events. Fat men's club events often opened with a public weigh-in of the membership, with prizes for the heaviest men. Competition at these public weigh-ins was heated enough to inspire widespread cheating, with participants loading down their pockets with weights in order to appear heavier. Many clubs ran eating contests before the official weighing.

I like our shaman better. He's a nut from Phoenix. :)

Utah wildlife bridge! I like that, very cool. That bear acted badly confused, though LOL.

Satanic group, Scotland. That was very common up till into the Victorian era. The Hellfire Club was popular among the elites till Queen Vic started to have them hung for murder (one was a nephew). IN Penna, USA, the wealthy liberal Packer family murdered and devoured perhaps 500 small children before the 1880s.

Ban my gas stove? BS. No cook true to his trade trusts electric because they haven’t good control like gas, burn out, are not cost effective, and I had one where a burner blew up. Gas is far cheaper than electric, but freaky feds are into control, not reality. It’s difficult to control gas. The stove was a luxury item from the 40s, and the washing machines are from the late 30s and early 60s. Donno how many power outages I’ve suffered through, but never a gas outage. Worse comes to worse, looks like the parlor stove (wood-burning) is going to be used.
