Deep beneath the surface of Chihuahua, Mexico, lies one of the most surreal places on Earth...
OMG! This is awesome!
The Giant Crystal Cave…
Discovered completely by accident in 2000, this underground marvel was found when two brothers were drilling into the Naica Mine in search of silver…
Here’s a video, too:
This "Jules Vernian" looking cave system has been submerged almost since it was found. A remarkable and deadly place that scientists/explorers were only able to visit in brief visits and then only until it was completely submerged.
Crazy just how otherworldly parts of Earth are that we have actual record of, and the amount of Earth we'll probably never see.
Would have been great to visit that Fortress of solitude…
🎁 Curiosity Fuel: Strange Picks of the Day
Because the Earth is old, angry, and absolutely fabulous...
🪨 Giant Crystal Starter Set
You can’t drill into Naica, but you can scatter shiny quartz all over your house and pretend you're a geologist—or a wizard. Bonus: blocks EMF signals, maybe. Protect your vibes while looking fabulously unstable…
🧭 “WTF Am I Walking On?” Geology Field Guide
Ever wonder if that rock is ancient seabed, molten death, or just a fancy doorstop? Wonder no more. Identify your doom in sedimentary detail. Now with extra pages for conspiracy notes…
⛏️ Rock Hammer (Real. Heavy. Pointy.)
Every adventurer needs a dramatic tool for hitting things in the wild—or at least looking intense while hiking. Bonus: doubles as a zombie deterrent. Indiana Jones didn’t carry a crystal tumbler. You shouldn’t either.
Dig deep. Get weird. Earth's got layers—and most of them are trying to kill us or just look really cool doing it.
And so, the Giant Crystal Cave returns to myth—locked away beneath the earth like some forgotten sci-fi cathedral, glowing in silence while we pave parking lots and argue over Netflix passwords. Just a reminder: the most alien worlds aren’t on Mars—they’re right under our feet, sealed in time, and probably trying to kill us with 130°F air and razor-sharp crystals. Nature’s not hiding her secrets… we’re just too fragile to stay in the room with them.
The planet’s weirder than you think.

As a rock hound, this would be cool to see, a short viewing time though.
I remember seeing these crystal caves on Youtube about 20 or more years ago. I had completely forgotten about them. They are amazing and if the movie "Superman" didn't come out in 1978 BEFORE these caves were discovered, I'd say Hollywood copied it from them!
