I don't go to or through a lot of big cities anymore. When I travel, I will drive a longer route so I can avoid them. The restoration of civil order and crime consequences is just one of the reasons millions of folks like me voted for the Donald. I'm tired of the chaos the Left has not only allowed but encourages. Peace.
Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
No cognition problems here. Just a different world view than yours.
I am in total opposition to the Jan 6 violence. Both Ashli Babbitt and Roseanne Boyland were murdered by the violence of the Metropolitan and Capitol police...
Please find another "gotcha" to snark me with that is more recent than FIVE YEARS AGO.
I can find plenty instances of violence from the left just in the last two years.
Finding your claims of murder of two women who were rioting on Jan. 6th something I wanted to verify, I find this :
1. Ashli Babbitt was shot by a police officer as she was crawling through a window where the glass had been broken out and there were people inside the police officer was obligated to protect. She was wounded in the shoulder and died in the hospital the next day.
2. Roseanne Boyland died of a methamphetamine overdose that caused her to pass out and she was then trampled by pro-Trump rioters.
"Murders". Hmmmm... people will make any hysterical claim to defend their indefensible claims. It's funny really.
You seem to be fixated on the Progressive narrative about Jan 6. You went there, not I. The "official" narrative on that is a manufactured Dem narrative. just like the information currently being revealed concerning all the illegal spying and bogus prosecutions of Trump since he announced ten years ago, the truth about your favorite "gotcha" of Jan 6 will also eventually be revealed. As I said, that was FIVE years ago. Stop deflecting.
My original comment was concerning Strange Sounds commentary about the takeover of policing in DC. I merely commented that was one of the reasons I and millions of folks like me voted for Trump. Simple law and order. Apparently the majority of the country agrees with that; TRUMP WON. I'm done interacting with you. Peace.
So...you are only opposed to violence against people whose "side" you are on.
I'm not snarking. Just sharp and can read. You don't merely have a different world view from mine, you have a need to try and denigrate because you don't know how to think.
There is no "gottcha". You provided that yourself.
While that's fine with me. I still contend it must be such a strange lapse in synapsis that allow you to oppose violence only if the victim is in the same political party as the one you support.
The WH is most likely using City-Data.com. It tends to be the most accurate down to the neighborhood. DC's "number" is 520, which is high. But by comparison Baltimore is 726, St Louis is 823, New Orleans is 789 and Philadelphia is 579. Of note there is a city/neighborhood across the river from St Louis proper that scores 3,120 (Sauget). However, most of the world's highest crime levels can be found in Central and South America. On some lists St Louis Baltimore, New Orleans and even Albuquerque as being in the top 50 in the world. Looking at those lists it seems the method is estimation. Also the trouble with most of these sites is that it's not entirely data found in public records as most petty crimes are not reported (even rape is very under reported, sadly). In the US we have a FBI crime survey that out reports all (ALL) public records. This is a survey performed outside of city reporting which in some cases is only 40%. Also a good source is John Lott's site crimeresearch.org (whatever you think of him the data is solid).
Hope this helps. Is it overblown, I don't know. I don't go to big cities anymore. And I grew up outside of NYC and Philly in the 80's.
The Trump administration is evaluating plans that would establish a “Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force” composed of hundreds of National Guard troops tasked with rapidly deploying into American cities facing protests or other unrest, according to internal Pentagon documents reviewed by The Washington Post.
Yes. The people always win. And that's what's happening now. The violent criminals are finally being dealt with; they will be sentenced, not given rehab or probation. DC will now go back to the peace loving people who live there.
What your government is doing is maybe the right answer to this problem. I don't know. And to answer your question: I don't know. But maybe decrease the inegality gap between people... This will mean a radical 'System Change' from both Red and Blue sides... You won't solve this problem overnight. And, at least in Europe, people get more violent, when they see/ feel the presence of cops/ army. If you see them during a demonstration, you are sure there will by riots/ fights. If not, normally everything will go smoothly... Probably the same in the US...
Yes i've been there... And even lived in Paris during 4 years. Never had a problem. Mostly they are parked outside of the city. A great movie about all this is called 'La Haine'. Here's the link to it. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkCbhmH0wi8
You are the ideal product of the manipulative brainwashing the system is hoping to produce. Congrats, Unit of Livestock Commodity, you have fulfilled your purpose.
Anyway, I hope everyone prepares to do whatever they need to do to keep their family’s & loved ones safe…
If anyone would like to try to shed some positive light on the subject, please, be my guest.
Your TDS is showing. How about mentioning that the DEMS lied about the DC crime rate? Or that most crime is committed by juviniles who know that in DC they will get off scott free? Agian, your TDS is showing.
The coup of 2020 stripped away the illusion, exposing the system for what it is: a ravenously wild beast, terrified of populist renewal in the same way a parasite fears being torn from its host.
This enormous leech has been engorging itself for decades, hiding behind the hollow theatrics of useful puppets. Its appetite has only grown since it murdered John F. Kennedy and framed Richard Nixon to preserve its grip.
The culmination of the true police state came between late 2016 and early 2017, when a conspiracy against the American people was launched—one that is now publicly laid bare.
What we are witnessing today is the slow unraveling of that police state and the installation of a replacement framework. Such transitions only occur when existing institutions have rotted beyond salvage.
With D.C. being foreign soil in relation to the United States they can do whatever they want. As for others places invoking the Insurrection Act might be required.
I don't know whether what you wrote is true or not, but it is clear to me you enjoy the Tangerine Bootay. Careful with the diapers. They are usually full.
When indeed the Guard NEEDS to help the 'defunded and overweight out of shape' police!
ANYONE HAVE A BETTER IDEA to rid the cities of crime and the flood of drugs???
At this point, at 73 years old, I am READY for some REAL men to take to the streets and clean this shit up!!!.........screw these woke demonrats and all their illegals....GET RID OF THEM!....Not violently, but the mere SHOW OF FORCE!!!...SHIP THIS SHIT OUT!!!
Now everybody can comment. I made a mistake during the publication process...

So...you were in opposition to the January 6th violence.
It must be hard to live with all that cognitive dissonance.
*sigh*

You are aiding the takedown and destruction of America.
There is nothing lawful in it.
So...you are only opposed to violence against people whose "side" you are on.

Trump has no special jurisdiction over DC. DC has a mayor and a city government and US representatives just like any other city.

Let’s crush the Resitance! But people at the end always win…
Yes. The people always win. And that's what's happening now. The violent criminals are finally being dealt with; they will be sentenced, not given rehab or probation. DC will now go back to the peace loving people who live there.
You seem to have no direct experience with DC.
Interesting.
Protests are not unrest. They are distinctly different acts.
To classify a protest as unrest is to discourage the constitutional right to assemble.
How would you fix the out-of-control crime in DC??? Suggestions???
What your government is doing is maybe the right answer to this problem. I don't know. And to answer your question: I don't know. But maybe decrease the inegality gap between people... You're blaming the cops/army?? Maybe you could post a video of a riot/fight going smoothly.
You should have stopped at "I don't know."
This is what I have experienced in Europe... It's my experience... Probably not yours...
Yet, you are commenting on what happens in the US.
Why do you see crime in DC as "out of control"?
Did you read it somewhere or do you live there, etc.?
Makes no difference where I live.
Feel free to do your own research.
I have. Thanks though. I know DC and it isn't "out of control".
Pearl clutching isn't charming nor are false claims.
Very interesting.
You are the ideal product of the manipulative brainwashing the system is hoping to produce. Congrats, Unit of Livestock Commodity, you have fulfilled your purpose.
By making uneducated and judgemental comments from a foreign country that I never lived in?
Well...there's a tired and ineffective argument.
I suppose you believe every single thing must be personally experienced in order to have insight into it?
I bet that leaves you out of miles of interesting discussions.
Hi, Manuel! I hope you are well.
Thanks for the article.
As we in the US goosestep into authoritarianism, it looks like we have the answer to -
How the German people fell for that revolting little man named Hitler.
America is getting just what it's begging for.
Like a gagged and bound masochist begging for a flogging but what the masochist doesn't realize yet is - there is no "safe word".
Carry on, My Fearless Friend! God Bless.
Anyway, I hope everyone prepares to do whatever they need to do to keep their family’s & loved ones safe…

So old and tedious. Like moldy cheese in the very back of the refrigerator.
LOL!

Knowing thyself is half the battle, right?
So all are worried about 'Martial Law'???.......

I believe it's all for the good and just read this article that rings true for me.

Embracing authoritarianism feels so GOOD, right?
think whatever you want. Obviously I don't see this as authoritarian.
I don't care if people don't have my opinion. It's mine and I enjoy discussion and when people comment
You know what would be really great, Little Bovine Piece of Livestock?
If you would go away. Your bots are showing and it's time for a potty break to tuck them back in.
very angry..... poor little pirate no one agrees with him
So...you admire a pedophile and are groomed and ready for action. Good to know.
I'll try to direct the children away.
