Norway has been an active participant in NATO since the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in Washington on the 4th of April 1949. As far as the sign goes, there are always those who oppose any sort of military presence. Norway supports the retention and potential use of nuclear weapons on its behalf, as indicated by its endorsement of various alliance statements of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), of which it is a member. Not an argument mind you, just stating the obvious.
