Elk are fierce. I found an elk skull with record horns with another elk's top back daggar horn broke off through the eye socket. They fight to the death. Sold that skull when I needed money to a hunting lodge owner for big money too. I was broke then.
The elk impaled that wolf in such a way that he couldn't detach him. Probably the weight and exhaustion would have made it impossible to eat and drink too. We have elk here in the mountains. I don't hunt deer or elk. I hunt predators, mainly coyote and varmints. I did get an elk call device, and was able to bugle good enough to bring them into range. Fricken enormous beasts. We have antelope, and once a huge male was on the highway. I got out of my truck, and got him back over the field fence in the pasteur where he belongs. Those get big too. Much bigger when you are standing a few feet away vs. elevated in a truck.
Up in Yellowstone we were having afternoon meal on the grass, and the elk come right up and freegraze 10' away from you. There is no hunting pressure, so they come right up close. I really like them alot.
I've heard a lot about pemmican, do you know what it is? Shredded steak and blueberries formed into a sliceable loaf that you could survive on indefinitely.

The Guatemalan lightning 🌩 strike/ eruption is an off the charts quality.
Yeah, Manuel gets some nice quality photographs. Sometimes when news is all gloomy, the pictures make me happy.
This is why I put them... I like to have a mix of positive and negative... Like in life...
It's for the chitin. Nanoscaffold building blocks.
I understand the interest in metals but beans, bacon and bullets might be more barterable. (If that's a word) Just a thought.
