Nice ending. I love all dogs. Dogs are the best. Try looking at that picture of those three dogs without smiling :) Dogs make us smile. I love dogs. Did I mention that I love dogs?
The Clarence Thomas story: The man Thomas sold the Georgia properties to is my former employer! I worked for a company called Wyndham Hotels which Harlan Crow owned. I mentioned on this thread weeks ago that I was called upon by Wyndham upper management to go to Crow's upstate New York "camp" to cook for Harlan and his guests. I recall sitting on the big porch of his "lodge" at camp Topridge in the Adirondacks, just he and I talking.
There were two brand new Harley Davidson motorcycles parked on the sidewalk. I inquired about them and he told me that the vice president of the company bought two of them and gave one to Harlan. As a motorcyclist myself I asked him how long he has been riding. He said, "never been on one". I laughed and asked why the vice president bought him one. He said that he was trying to get him to learn to ride. I remember thinking two things. First, if he didn't want it, I'll take it! And that perhaps, if he wanted to learn, he should start out on a smaller, lighter motorcycle, not a full dresser Harley weighing in at over 900 lbs. Strange world, this is.
Crow was a billionaire in the 90s before billionaires were "commonplace". He inherited his father's business, Trammell Crow Company, a very large Texas real estate company with over 29 billion in holdings. Harlan is a very "important" man in this world and I'm sure part of the Council on Foreign Relations (among others) which exists to set plans for the direction of world development. There were several meetings at his lodge, I recall, with very influential people in attendance. This was 1997 so he's even richer now. Big money makes big money while the rest of the world gets poorer.
Thanks for the info on Sapphire grapes. I am a (retired) certified executive chef through the American Culinary Federation and have worked with food most of my life. I have never seen those grapes until today!
Thanks 🙏❤️🇺🇸
