Corporate surveillance is a privacy nightmare...
The study found that Amazon’s Alexa app collects 28 out of 32 possible data points, more than three times the average for smart home devices. All collected data is linked to individual user profiles, including precise location, contact information, and health-related data.
Google’s smart home devices collect 22 out of 32 data points, also well above average. Notable data points include address, location, photos, videos, audio data, and browsing history.
This corporate surveillance should come as no surprise. More data = better targeted ads = more sales = more revenue for shareholders.
No smart devices for my home ;)

In stark contrast to other major economies across Europe the UK has seen a marked fall in the number of its high-net-worth individuals, with the upcoming election predicted to further increase this trend to record levels. Much like rats fleeing a sinking ship, this post provides further evidence of the UK's continual economic decline… Millionaires are abandoning the UK in droves…

The suspects were later arrested.

It is already apparent that the "ozone hole" is not closing as quickly as expected. In fact, the size of the hole is even growing larger. Research into remaining ozone depleting chemicals reveals that one of the major culprits is aluminum oxide, which reacts with chlorine to deplete ozone. A major "unnatural" source of aluminum oxide is caused by satellites burning up on re-entry… New study finds Starlink and other satellite constellations linked to ozone depletion…

SOLAR MAXIMUM NOCTILUCENT CLOUDS: 2024 is supposed to be a bad year for noctilucent clouds (NLCs). High solar activity is warming Earth's upper atmosphere and breaking apart water molecules necessary for noctilucent ice. Yet here they are:
But solar activity isn't the only factor. NLCs form when summertime wisps of water vapor rise to the edge of space, forming a rime of ice around specks of meteor debris. Extra moisture pumped into the atmosphere by the undersea eruption of the Tonga volcano could be giving the clouds an edge. Inter-hemispheric teleconnections also influence the temperature and moisture available for NLCs… In short, we just don't know what will happen next…
