Whichever third of the earth is facing the sun during that time will be absolutely devastated.
This is the FIRST angel's trumpet sounding. There are SIX MORE. This section of Scripture tells of the worst of the times of great tribulation coming after the "Restrainer" is removed (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7). The Restrainer is the Holy Spirit of God which indwells all who are born again and have had their sins removed. When the Rapture occurs the Restrainer will be removed.
