The toddler getting hold of an unsecured gun and shooting another toddler...horrifically tragic but can we really believe the story? NBC has been known to create stories out of thin air.
Moreover, where are the details of the story? All the story said was that it was a handgun. Was it a revolver? Was it loaded? If a person keeps a loaded revolver (which has no safety) in the reach of a child I agree with Manuel, he shouldn't be allowed to keep one. IF it was a semi auto 9mm or .45 cal, was there a round in the chamber? Was the safety on?
Anyone who would keep a loaded semi-auto handgun with or without being chambered, (a toddler might know how to chamber a round on a semi auto from watching TV albeit, depending on the age, it may be very difficult to pull back the slide on many semi auto handguns) a chambered bullet in reach of a child should also be restricted from owning a handgun. I have handguns (and rifles) all over my home.
I keep the magazines very nearby, hidden in strategic places so if I ever need to reach one, I can lock and load at that time. I take firm precautions and I don't have anyone at all living with me at all, let alone children. I consider safety first because that's how I was trained.
I also have a concealed carry permit so that I could intervene in a public random shooter's insane blood quest should I be near one. It's called responsible gun ownership. It's an insane and dangerous world and if I'm with my daughter or some friends or even alone I want to be equally armed against lunatics. If everyone did this, we would have no "random shooter" scenarios.
The asteroid missing the earth: There are only two kinds of people in the earth; those that believe we are hurtling through space and time through a minefield of space rocks, meteorites, comets and asteroids RANDOMLY missing the big ones simply by pure luck;
AND those that know that we can trust a Sovereign, Loving, Omniscient, Omnipotent and Caring God Who has created and CONTROLS every bit of space dust and put each of us here with a PLAN to redeem as many as would believe in Him.
When I see that we "just missed" a big, ELE asteroid, I actually smile at the rest of the world who believes that this earth and all that is in it, came about by a chance BIG BANG of NOTHING which spread out and formed EVERYTHING in all of its complexity AGAINST every bit of logic that ever was and that the future is completely uncertain.

Red, burning, hell like map of Italy...a reflection of the current state of the Papacy?

Thank you.
