They keep calling it a 'swamp' but I think that is a slur on swamps which are, in fact, well ordered ecological systems. I prefer to think of our DC demons as a cesspool where only bad bacteria exists to break down matter to deadly sludgy water.
I realized likewise that calling anything going on in D.C. a 'zoo' or a 'circus' is an insult to those entertaining venues. 'Clown show,' on the other hand, is ok with me because clowns are often creepy.
I used to think term limits would be good but now I fear we are way past that being anything other than a stop gap. The only way to right this sinking ship is to make huge limits on congressmen - like no special deal on medical insurance, SS taken out of their salaries and prohibited from having anything but a 401k while in office. And is that ever going to happen? Not while congress can vote for itself, which is a big tell. I think of it as five wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.
So true - and they would never vote themselves term limits in any case. Sadly, our elected officials who are freely spending our hard-earned dollars do not represent their constituencies whatsoever. History repeats itself - taxation without representation.
Yes. breaks my heart, not for me so much, I'm old but for my kids and theirs and theirs. Our history books don't really get into the suffering that had to happen to try to right that wrong. And here we are. Again.
As Ed Dowd points out...the entire DC/country/elits have been ripping off the US taxpayers for years, and the justice dept and deep state are there to make sure they get a way with it, and extract every last dime from us before the system crashes, per their plan.
Its fraud, fraud , farud, and the even worse cover up.
Anybody getting the feeling that we have been "sold out" as a country to the highest bidder??? I think we can partly blame our education system. How about we start teaching The Constitution in our public schools?!! ;-)
Poor Martha Stewart went to prison for insider trading while elected members of Congress engage in the most spectacular form of insider trading daily with zero repercussions. But only if they're Democrats, apparently.
well on this issue … the author does not have a damn clue .. yeah on the surface it looks like the senator is betting against the American public . So this guy knows what his total holdings are ? HE DON”T … yeah he’s taken and ultra short ETF . The author did use the word hedge so to back track he may have a clue to what the senator is doing . We don’t know how long he is in the market . AND he is shorting the QQQ – tech ETF . People will play the QQQ against the SPY all the time . I could go on .. but … no one knows if he is really short on the US market .He may be . He maybe only short term maybe only in the tech sector long term , he may think the tech sector is over sold and thinks it will come down soon . He maybe hedging his longs . You gonna get in a car wreck this week … not planning on it are ya . But the law aside you got insurance on the car – house – your life . Why cause sh***** comes in from outer space you just can’t for see. The bottom line . Me , you nor the guy writing has any idea what that senator is thinking or his bias on the market …. thanks Duncan
