The Mount Saint Helens Volcano in Washington state is showing signs of unrest, as magma and gasses were confirmed to be moving underneath its edifice. This has generated a series of more than 100 earthquakes, which have been detected by seismographs. These earthquakes are largely centered beneath the lava dome formed from 2004 to 2008, meaning that the next eruption is likely to occur in the same location. So, is an eruption likely?
